Is not too late to have that romantic date, besides its still February right? As our Love Food Crawl with fellow zomato foodies continued, we visited another great venue for all the couples who want to have that intimate romantic getaway, Tahanan Bistro. Tahanan Bistro is a 17 yrs old classic house that was turned into a casual dining place. Love the concept of the place. Adorned with wooden doors, wooden carvings, an old radio that works, a large koi pod, hard wooden chairs and tables, and a scenic view of garden and skyline. I also felt at home when upon entering, we are required to removed our shoes.
Tahanan Bistro offers mostly Filipino food with a western touch. It is quite evidently on every dishes that was served because it is not only palatable but also good to the eyes. They are also changing their menu every 4 months to keep it more interesting.
The first served was an Ukoy Salad. It was presented very well. Followed by the following amazing dishes.
Purple Yam, Ube, Cum White Chocolate White Lava Cake. The contrast of the freshly baked lava cake and the coldness of the ice cream is so good!
Champorado. Not your ordinary champorado as it was served on a small cup consists of tiny bits of dried fish. Plus it doesn't look like champorado at all! I love my champorado very hot and sticky but this one is an exception. I like how it was presented, very unique.
Must try's for me are the Champorado, Paella Valenciana and the Ube!
Amounting to P1,200, each five course meal are cooked by the chefs with their different techniques. They also let their guest to tour around. Call them now and make reservations if you want to make a visit.
An amazing view, good food and homey place, Tahanan Bistro is obviously a nice romantic getaway that is not far from the Metro.
