Why You Should Watch These KDrama Series Vol II

It's 2020 and I am still on KDrama. LOL! Sorry, not sorry! :) This post has been sitting on my draft post for quite some time and I haven't been able to add any exciting KDrama just yet thus the long wait of posting it.

As for throwback, did you know that my first blog post last 2019 is Why You Should Watch These KDrama Series? So this will be my volume II, naks!

Plot: Brought together by fate, a woman who seems to have everything and a young man who seems to have nothing decides to give up an ordinary life to be together.

Stars: Bo-Gum Park & Hye-Kyo Song

Why You Should Watch It: Who wouldn't love Park Bo Gum and Song Hye-Kyo? This is a heartwarming series with the usual story 'you and me against the world'. The cinematography is also to look out for. It made the scenes more romantic and lonely at the same time. Aside from the endearing characters, we also learn on this series the value of trusting ourselves more and to be courageous enough to decide despite what others are saying.

Oh My Venus

Plot: A lawyer in her thirties coming out of a long relationship decides to regain her figure and health after meeting a renowned personal trainer who obsesses with leading a healthy lifestyle after suffering a serious injury in his childhood.

Stars: Ji-seob So & Min-a Shin

Why You Should Watch It: Never thought that this team-up will actually work! I ended up so kilig with all their sweet scenes together. The characters are also lovable especially when the 3 guys are together.

Beauty Inside (2018)

The series tells the love story of Han Se Gye, an actress who must spend one week out of each month living in someone else's body, and Seo Do Jae, a man who suffers from Prosopagnosia.

Stars: Hyeon-jin Seo & Min-ki Lee

Why You Should Watch It: How about falling in love with a person who changes her face one week per month? This series turned out to be good on each episode as you guess on what faces the lead character will transform into. There is also a spark in the chemistry of the two leads. I also love the character of Seo Hyeon-jin being hilarious and a drama queen.

Memories of Alhambra

After suffering a setback following a friend's betrayal Yoo Jin Woo travels to Spain on a business. There, he stays at an old hostel owned by a former classical guitarist Jung Hee Joo. The two get entangled in a mysterious incident.

Stars: Shin-Hye Park and Hyun Bin

Why You Should Watch It: If you are into a sci-fiction, fantasy, and augmented reality gaming story, this is your kind of Kdrama. This series was also shot in a beautiful setting in Spain. A kind of refreshing drama that features not only about a love story but also action, suspense, and thriller.

An old murder incident involving a group who ran an illegal broadcasting station brings together different people - a mysterious errand guy "Healer" who possesses disguise and fighting skills, a reporter from a second-rate tabloid, and a famous journalist. They will have to deal with the cruel conflict of truth versus faith.

Stars: Chang-Wook Ji and Min-Young Park

Why You Should Watch It: Because Ji Chang-Wook is love! :) Park Min-Young and Ji Chang-Wook's has nice chemistry here not over the top but just the right amount of kilig scenes.

Hotel Del Luna

When he's invited to manage a hotel for dead souls, an elite hotelier gets to know the establishment's ancient owner and her strange world.

Stars: Ji-eun Lee and Jin-gu Yeo

Why You Should Watch It: The reason why I started fangirling IU. In this series, you can also look forward to IU's glammed up outfits and those changing fake nails. I am amazed by how they put on so much effort on IU's different outfits per era. Magic, ghost, and fantasy and the characters' backstories will have you hooked on each episode. Oh and don't forget the OST soundtracks!

Her Private Life

Plot: A romantic comedy about a talented gallery curator named Sung Duk Mi, who is an idol fan-girl underneath her professional veneer. Meanwhile, her boss Ryan becomes a passionate fan-boy of her.

Stars: Min-Young Park and Jae-Wook Kim

Why You Should Watch It: This series tells the story about a fangirl's world. Dito ko napatunayan na kahit sinong katambal ni ate girl Park Min-Young eh bagay sa kanya. The chemistry of these two is undeniably good.

Touch Your Heart

Plot: A romance between a lawyer and a top actress, whose life goes downhill after becoming caught up in a scandal with a third-generation chaebol. She fakes her position to become the lawyer's secretary in order to star in a famous writer's drama.

Stars: Dong-Wook Lee & Sang-woo Lee

Why You Should Watch It: Sobrang cute lang ng series na 'to. If you watched Goblin, you should watch this series next if you felt na you need more of the loveteam of Lee Dong-Wook and Lee Sang-Woo. They also announced that they are dating in real life after ng series na 'to. How kilig is that? :)

Sky Castle

Wealthy residents of Sky Castle do their best to control the lives of their children and face consequences.

Stars: Jung-ah Yum, Tae-ran Lee, Se-ah Yun, Na-ra Oh, Seo-hyeong Kim

Why You Should Watch It: Strong female casts which you may hate and love. It also has an intriguing storyline and each episode is always to look out for. First episode pa lang may namatay na. This series discussed the competitive education that the children are facing in Korea. Intense ang KDrama na 'to and it is one of the best KDrama I've watched so far in terms of storyline and characters. I also liked how it ended.

Extra-Ordinary You

Plot: What would you do if you found out that you were, in fact, a character in a comic? And an extra character on top of that? Change the course of the story, obviously.

Stars: Kim Hye-Yoon, Ro-Woon Kim

Why You Should Watch It: Have you thought of being in a comic book then realized that you are actually not the lead? This series is so unique that you can't assume what will happen next.

Crash Landing On You

Plot: The absolute top secret love story of a chaebol heiress who made an emergency landing in North Korea because of a paragliding accident and a North Korean special officer who falls in love with her and who is hiding and protecting her.

Stars: Hyun Bin & Ye-jin Son

Why You Should Watch It: Who doesn't love Crash Landing On You? Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin people! Solid ang actingan ng dalawang 'to! This series will give you a glimpse of what it looks like to live in North Korea. Interesting yung love story as it is a complicated one. I can't also ignore the two supporting casts Seo Dan & Seung Joon who made me heartbroken. :( Plus, look out for the four soldiers under Captain Ri’s command who also captivate the heart of the audiences.

Itaewon Class

Plot: Itaewon Class tells the story of ex-convict Park Sae-ro-yi (Park Seo-joon) whose life has been turned upside down after he gets expelled from school for punching a bully and his father is killed in an accident. Following his father's steps, he opens his bar-restaurant DanBam (Sweet Night) in Itaewon. Alongside his manager, Jo Yi-seo (Kim Da-mi) and his staff, he strives towards success and reaching greater heights while battling against a food conglomerate.

Stars: Seo-joon Park & Da-mi Kim

Why You Should Watch It: This series is more on striving hard to reach your dream goals. That business is not all about the money but the people who help you achieve it. I love the DanBam Squad and how they are so unique. Talking about unique personalities, this series also talks about issues on LGBTQ, racism, discrimination, and social hierarchy. There are only a few sweet scenes but I still loved the fact that Yi-Seo fought for her feelings all the way for Sae-ro-yi. Eto yung series na akala ko hindi ko magugustuhan yung girl but watching this makes me loved and root her more!

How about you guys? Any reasons why you are watching a certain KDrama? Have you watched these series yet? Any recommendation on what to watch next?
