Just when I thought I'll no longer have a social life, here I am discovering a new tambayan in Marikina. Being a mom to three and a full time working mom, it's been a long time since I have that chill vibe night with friends.
Don't get me wrong, I love spending my weekend with my kids. But there are days when I wanted to have a few moments with myself and maybe some friends too.
A few memories of my pregnancy days came rushing in when I visited Bodega Casa Villa located along Gil Fernando Avenue. Malapit sya sa ospital ko (St. Anthony Hospital) and never thought that it actually exists! For the longest time na dun ako nagpapabalik-balik for check-ups and even had given birth to 3 kids there, hindi ko talaga masyadong napapansin 'to. (they are open from 5PM - to midnight that's why) Glad now that I did!
Bodega Casa Villa is a Fil-Mex restaurant with a nice touch of Filipino & Mexican interiors as well as to their dishes. They also have an al-fresco dining area for diners who want to chill and vibe while listening to good music.
If you are lost within the area, try these dishes:
Mucho Nacho Bodega PHP230. It has longganisa and kesong puti! Yum!
Sinugbang Maiz “Elote” PHP120.
Taco Trio PHP295. Tacos with 3 different flavors: Pork Bagnet Sisig, the Chicken Inasal, and the Beef Barbacoa.
Crispy Dinuguan Burrito PHP250. A different take on dinuguan.
Stacked Chicken Wings PHP765 (24 pcs of chicken!). Flavored with Parmesan, Quezo, and Chipotle.
Aligue Squid Pasta PHP275.
Enjoy their Kaktel (cocktail drinks) at their bar and with live acoustic music. Don't forget to try their 'Chili Tequila'.
My three favorite dishes:
- Aligue Pasta. A must when you dine here. So tasty, filled with umami flavor and pasta is cooked al dente which makes it even better. The serving is generous but I would like to keep it to myself. :)
- Taco Trio. Enjoyed it with their sauces such as salsa verde, chipotle salsa, and garlic cream sauce. They also have it with Fish Sinigang & Crispy Buttered Ox Brain.
- Sinugbang Maiz. Packed with cheesy goodness!
I also enjoyed the live music with their live performer of the day.
