PACE Baking Workshop

Baking is one of the many things that is listed on my bucket list. I have such admiration to bakers who are so talented and creative on their passion to make cakes and pastries. Its definitely not easy but it pays off if you have the effort to learn. So as I tried my very best to know the basics of baking, I rely mostly on Youtube tutorials. It may result to being lucky getting the right ingredients, the right preparation, the exact mix and so on that the result was always wiped out by my nieces and kids. You can check my Baking Journey here. But there are times that I need to try and have a trial and error first especially if I am not sure what I am doing. Well those videos helped a lot but it is still a different feeling when you are trained and handled by the experts.

It was like my prayers are answered when we were invited by PACE (Professional Academy for Culinary Education) in Antipolo to have a trial baking workshop together with Mommy Bloggers Philippines. Here is a short video of How to Bake Brownies by Chef May Martinez.

In case you want the ingredients for the brownies:

Ingredients:

60 grams unsweetened chocolate
145 grams bittersweet chocolate
290 grams butter
4 pcs eggs
260 grams sugar
2 grams salt
7 ml vanilla extract
115 grams bread flour
90 grams walnuts, chopped

Please refer to the video for the procedure.

Aside from the chewey brownies, we also baked Oatmeal and Butter Cookie. We were grouped into two and had our chance to mix and prepare for our cookies. And the great part of it was we were able to take home all the goodies that we baked. They are all good! I hope I can replicate them when I try it at home.

We also have a little tour around PACE. Here is their classroom and new kitchen ready for their classes this coming summer. PACE now offers BPAD Baking and Pastry Arts Diploma Course. Combining the art and science of baking.

PROFESSIONAL ACADEMY FOR CULINARY EDUCATION

The short course of baking essentials costs P2,500 for one session which is 4 hrs and P15,000 for full series of 10 days. You can also enroll your kids during their kids edition by the end of April but they only have limited slots. Check on their Facebook Page for their full schedule. The good thing about their workshop is that they also teach their students on how to put up business from baking. They will have a set of sale for the finals of the students to help them train their entrepreneurial skills.
