Netflix has taken the world by storm as it provides tv shows and movies that you can watch anywhere you are. I've been addicted to Netflix so I decided to unsubscribed my plan. LOL! After almost 2 months (1 month FREE and 1 month paid), I bid goodbye to Netflix for the meantime so I can do other things (like sleeping ha ha ha!). It was addicting and I can't stop! I've been watching in between breaks at the office and in the carpool to kill time going to the office and going back home. Now, if you are looking to binge watch shows, here are a few of the series and movies I've watched so far. I also included on why you should watch these shows from Netflix. In no particular order.
PLOT: Newspaper illustrator John Moore meets with a criminal psychologist (alienist) Dr. Laszlo Kreizler to investigate a serial killer in New York during the late 19th century.
WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH IT: Because it stars Dakota Fanning, one of the Hollywood actresses that I really adore. Love the setting, costumes and the soundtrack that makes my heart nervous if they discover something. It's a Sherlock kind of series of intriguing mysteries.
PLOT: Follows teenager Clay Jensen, in his quest to uncover the story behind his classmate and crush, Hannah, and her decision to end her life.
WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH IT: A show that is brutally honest about bullying. It was also painful to watch. It tackles about suicide. Just be sure to be guided by watching this show as it is not for the weak hearts.
PLOT: When a young boy disappears, his mother, a police chief, and his friends, must confront terrifying forces in order to get him back.
WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH IT: This show had the nostalgia feels! It had the 80's feeling, from the setting, characters, props and all. You'll get hook with the intriguing and mysterious storyline. You'll also fell in love with the characters.
SAFE
PLOT: After his daughter goes missing, a widower begins uncovering the dark secrets of the people closest to him.
WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH IT: I did not predict the ending though from the very start it is evident that something is wrong. It will make you keep on watching as you keep on guessing who the killer was.
PLOT: A group of people around the world are suddenly linked mentally, and must find a way to survive being hunted by those who see them as a threat to the world's order.
WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH IT: 8 strangers connected from different parts of the world where the plot makes your head hurt but makes you curious at the same time. It builds a connection to totally strangers sharing their thoughts, emotions and even sex! Despite the flaws, I liked how this show represented different people on colors, gender, and religion that may actually be connected in real life.
RIVERDALE
PLOT: A subversive take on Archie and his friends, exploring small-town life, the darkness, and weirdness bubbling beneath Riverdale's wholesome facade.
WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH IT: I am a fan of Archie comics. I remembered those comics my mom used to bring here in the Philippines from abroad. Archie comics have different stories so it is not a surprise anymore that they did a mystery storyline with Riverdale. I love how almost all the characters are on the show and how each actor inhabits each character. (I still hope Jughead loves food on the series) I'll admit that it has flaws (they are only high school students but already dealt with so many chaoses in life), but I am still looking forward to more seasons.
PLOT: Sheila and Joel are married real estate agents in Santa Clarita, California. When Sheila dies, their lives take a dark turn.
WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH IT: Drew Barrymore is hilariously fun to watch as a zombie plus the fact that her family helped her to kill her next victim. Watched so many zombie-themed series and this by far the most enjoyable to watch.
PLOT: Following the tragic end of her brief superhero career, Jessica Jones tries to rebuild her life as a private investigator, dealing with cases involving people with remarkable abilities in New York City.
WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH IT: A different take on Marvel superhero without those glamorous costumes. It is not your typical superhero show. Jessica Jones is a superhero with so many issues and with a broken character. I like this show as it depicts a survivor woman. Jessica Jones is a victim herself, gotten broken even with those strong powers but keeps on fighting back.
PLOT: The extraordinary story of the "pizza bomber heist" and the FBI's investigation into a bizarre collection of suspects.
WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH IT: This show is crazy! I can't even believe that such humans exist!
PLOT: After an epidemic spread all over Australia, a father searches for someone willing to protect his daughter.
WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH IT: There is a lot of zombie series on Netflix so don't forget to watch this one as this is a zombie film with a heart. It had a compelling story of a love of a dad to his daughter.
PLOT: When Elle Evans, a pretty, late-bloomer who's never-been-kissed, decides to run a kissing booth at her high school's Spring Carnival, she unexpectedly finds herself locking lips with her secret crush- the ultimate bad boy, Noah Flynn. Sparks fly, but there's one little problem: Noah just happens to be the brother of her best friend, Lee, and is absolutely off limits according to the rules of their friendship pact.
WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH IT: I can't believe that I actually like this one. Maybe because I found Joey King really cute. The story is not that ordinary, a girl falling for a bad guy. I found it funny too. FYI, this was written by a 15-year old girl. And Elle and Noah are actually a couple in real life, they are soo cute together!
PLOT: Set in a future where consciousness is digitized and stored, a prisoner returns to life in a new body and must solve a mind-bending murder to win his freedom.
WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH IT: One of the Netflix' Originals that is so unique and mind-boggling. I know I came to a point where I can't understand the storyline but I held on to it and was able to finish it. The fight scenes are well done. The nude scenes are unnoticeable especially if you focus on the story itself. I love Ortega and looking forward to her on the next season.
PLOT: A group of ambitious law students and their brilliant criminal defense professor become involved in a twisted murder plot that promises to change the course of their lives.
WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH IT: This show is twisted AF! Though I admit that I stopped watching it after Season 2. It just felt too much. But watch the first season and get hook on the twisted story.
PLOT: A young girl risks everything to prevent a powerful, multinational company from kidnapping her best friend - a fascinating beast named Okja.
WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH IT: It changed my mind about eating meat. I know it will be really hard to be a vegan all of a sudden but we can cut back on eating meat slowly. This movie is definitely worth your time and you won't regret watching it.
When We First Met
PLOT: Noah thinks he has the perfect first night with Avery, the girl of his dreams, but gets relegated to the friend zone. He spends the next three years wondering what went wrong - until he gets the unexpected chance to travel back in time and change that night - and his fate - over and over again.
WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH IT: What if you are given chances travel back in time and change your fate with the girl of your dreams? I really like this kind of romcom movies plus it is hilariously fun. I honestly thought that it will be the same from the romcom movies I've watch but you'll be pleasantly surprised about the twist on the movie. I found Adam Devine funny at Pitch Perfect and found him funny on this one too. Alexandra Daddario is so gorgeous! How can you resist those eyes! You'll definitely enjoy this movie if you are in into a fun, light and cool story-line.
Watched the KDRAMA's here like Strong Woman Do Bong-Soon and A Korean Odyssey. Also started watching DARK but have to postpone it until I subscribe again on Netflix.
