Korean Skin Goal - 10 Steps Korean Skincare Routine

Koren Skin Goal - 10 Steps Korean Skincare Routine

Another year had passed and holidays went by so fast. My age is also not on the calendar anymore as I celebrated my 32 years of existence last Dec 2017. And as most bloggers do, they will write all about their new year's resolution, one word post. yearender post and all but here I am contemplating on what to write. December and January month are the most busiest time for me because aside from the holidays, its also the time of my birthday and birthdays of my 3 kids. As I plan their triple birthday celebration, I still want to come up with my goals this year. I already have my financial goals posted here which I am prioritizing as the twinboys will both start going to school and we all know that a budget is a must. As for the other goals, well I want a better version of myself to be able to take good care of my family and still have the strength to keep going after my passions (blogging, attending events among others) and becoming a Sunlife Financial Advisor. Above all of this, I wanted to take into consideration the fact that I am neglecting my skin. As I am now on my 30's I can't help but notice the dullness of my skin especially my face. As a mom, I don't have all the time to pamper my skin. I can't even go to a salon to have a decent manicure/pedicure. So for this year, I will try my very best to take care of my skin to the next level.

I decided to join the bandwagon on doing the 10 steps korean skincare. Korean have the best face skin as you can see from their KDrama series. Its not new anymore that a lot of people especially us Filipinos rave how beautiful their skin are! If you need to know more about the 10 steps korean skincare routine, check the post from Soko Glam to get the full details. I know I am a little late bloomer on this but here are my products for this routine.

For starter, I have a combination of oil and dry skin so this routine is one great way to moisturize and pamper my skin. I also have big pores, blackheads and whiteheads. Previous products that I am using was just facial wash, (sometimes) toner, and moisturiser. If I am a little bit want to pamper myself, I'll use nose strips plus mask sheet. That simple and I still skipped a lot of this when I am really lazy and just want to sleep.

So let us check my version of 10 steps korean skincare routine

1. Makeup Remover + Oil Cleanser. For this step it is all about cleaning your face first. I am not an everyday makeup person so I'll skip using the oil cleanser. I always do this step if I don't want to wash my face with water everyday.

Products: Simple Micellar Wipes or Simple Micellar Water which was sent by our friends from Lazada Affiliate.

2. Water-based Cleanser. Double cleansing at its best.

Using Ponds Pearl Cleansing Gel from Lazada. I've been using this product since I got hold of it years back. It is very mild and has a nice scent. You can check my previous review here. I also bought this The Faceshop Herb Day 365 Cleansing Foam Aloe from Althea. As I want to discover more Aloe Vera products I included this on my Althea purchase. I am still yet to use this as I am still emptying Pond's.

3. Exfoliator. This step is optional as you don't need to do it everyday. I am doing it twice a week to slough off dead skin cells.

Using Garnier Facial Scrub that I got from my mom. This product suit my oily combination skin. It has small blue beads that helps exfoliate my skin's face.

4. Toner. This product is for rehydration and balances skin's PH level. I actually got lazy using toners so I don't have any specific products to use. Good thing my co-worker gave me this Celetuque Alcohol Free Toner which non-drying and super mild. It also absorbs my skin really fast. Toner can be pat on the skin or can be damp with cotton.

But if there is really one toner that I would want to purchase, is this Hada Labo Hyrdating Lotion from Japan! I super love this product! You can really see the effect the moment you use it. It serve as a toner and a moisturizer. Bad news is that, you can only buy this from Japan. My co-worker let me use her's to review it and hopefully she'll buy one for me. She'll return in Japan soon. Trying to check from my mom too in Malaysia if she can get this there.

5. Essence. This is the heart of Korean Skincare. We don't want to miss this part as this is the most important step. According from Soko Glam site, an essence is a kind of toner/serum hybrid made for hydrating and aiding skin repair and cell turnover.

I bought my essense from BeautyMnl. I chose Neutrogena Hydro Boost Essence cost P1,029. Perfect for combination to dry skin. It is quickly absorbed by my skin for non-greasy feel. Lightweight on the skin too.

6. Serum. Now this is where it gets complicated. The next step is serum which is also essential to Korean Skincare. Whatever issues you have with your face such as dullness, large pores, acne, wrinkles, this step is to perfect that korean skin glow. Essence and serum are all new to me so I am helping myself not to get confuse by reading all the ingredients on each products. I also have a distinction with serums, it is mostly on a bottle glass with drops. He He He. Serums are also expensive so it was such a nice catch to see this product that I purchased from BeautyMnl. This Skin Genie Apple Cider Vinegar Serum with Vitamin C, E, Tomato and Aloe Vera Extract only cost P399. It boasts on clearing out clogged pores and even out skin tone. I love how this one smells and again it absorbs to my skin instantly. Allow the skin to absorb the product first before applying other products. Though I am okay on using this, I am still eyeing the one from Innisfree's Green Tea Seed Serum.

7. Sheet Mask. This step requires so much time from me. Doing this usually takes 15-30 minutes as it depends on the sheet to absorb on the skin. Sheet mask is the soul of Korean Skincare so if you can, don't skip this step. I love this step as it really pampers my skin really well. I am using these sheet masks from Esfolio Snail Essence Mask Sheet. I am loving snail masks. I wanted to use every snail mask there is. Leaves my skin moisturized and smooth.

8. Eye Cream. The step that I think I needed the most is the eye cream. Pond's Age Miracle Dual Action Eye Cream from Lazada is the one I am using. I am looking into trying a different product as this is not working for me. I don't see any difference at all as I've been using this even before doing this Korean Skincare Routine.

9. Moisturizer. We've come to the 9th step. This step is more on hydrating our skin to get that glowing healthy effect. It is important to find that right product perfect for our skin type. Eversince I've been using moisturizer, I can't live without it. You can let me outside the house without it. I've been loyal to Olay since college days and just switched into the one with anti-ageing on it. I also love Nature Republic's Aloe Vera Soothing Gel. Using this at night time as it soothes and moisturize my skin with cooling effect.

10. Sunscreen. Who uses sunscreen? I don't. I know I am super guilty of not using sunscreen especially when stepping outside the house. Now thast I am on my 30's, I am vowing myself to religiously use sunscreen. Putting sunscreen on the last step is essential to shield all the products that we put on our face under the sun.

I am currently using Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence with SPF 50+. I love this sunscreen as it doesn't have any heavy feeling. Consistency is not sticky which quickly absorbs on the skin and has a non greasy feel. Putting on a sunscreen is not hard after all! Skipping this step on a night time and switching with my optional step which is adding a lip balm as I have a chappy and dry lips. I also include on my routine (at least 2 times a week) using nose strips to those pesky blackheads and whiteheads.

Been doing the 10 Steps Korean Skincare for almost a week now and everything is good so far. There are steps that I am skipping from time to time depending on my mood and schedule. It is not important on how many steps you are following but what is still best for your skin.
