Artesania MNL Arts & Craft Cafe: Art & Food in One

Artesania MNL Arts & Craft Cafe

Have you notice anything new on my blog layout? Yep, I recently change my template! I am so excited to share with you that I finally ditch on my magazine type layout and decided on a minimalist style with a watercolor design header plus a calligraphy font for the blog's name. Well, today's post is one of my great inspiration to have it change. Jen of Sand Under My Feet invited me a few weekends back to visit an arts & craft cafe in Maginhawa. There are so many reasons on why I was excited on our agenda that day. First I was so excited because this is the first time that I'll visit a cafe with this theme. Second, this is my forte, arts & craft though I am a bit nervous with watercolor and calligraphy workshop. And lastly, we got to try their food. So without further ado, I am introducing you to Artesania MNL.

ArtesanĂa [arte’sanja] nf. 1. Art and technique to manufacture or produce objects or products by hand with simple devices and traditional way. 2. Handcrafted 3. Arts and crafts

Artesania MNL was born out of the founders’ need for a place where they can
#artambay and enjoy scrumptious food. The cafĂ© offers a wide variety of arts and crafts – painting, calligraphy, coloring, among others during their stay. The cafĂ© is also designed as a venue wherein artists can conduct workshops for those who would like to have a crash course in the field of arts.

As soon as I enter the place, there are arts everywhere. Cute lights are hanging on the counter. Paintings, calligraphy, drawings are posted on the wall. Different arts & craft materials are placed on a shelf. Their sink is on a drum set. Tables have a small menu on a jar with pebbles. Origamis are everywhere. There's a big blackboard that serves as a calligraphy heaven. You can also write your thoughts there. Even if you go to their comfort room, drawings are on the wall.

Let's go to the menu. Did I mention that they have a very creative menu. It's actually the same with those old Christmas cards that we have before. When you open it, images will pop out.

They have colorful and nicely presented food. And not only that, they also give justice to the food's taste. They tried and tested it before having it on their menu. They specifically wanted to have an art haven which don't limit the artist on the food that they can have while doing their arts.

One of the best salad that I've ever tasted is their Midsummer Night's Dream. Shakespeare Classic with sweet Mangoes and crushed sweet pili nuts which made it even better.

Come on, Irene. Artesania MNL’s Version of Dexy's Midnight Runners, an ode to Ivan and Irene. Their architect’s favorite pizza. Yummy and flavorful Garlic Prawn. (P280) The Animal Farm on the right. Because old Mcdonald is over-rated. Pepperoni, mixed sausages, adobo flakes and mozzarella cheese. (P290). I love the first one with its spicy kick and pair it with their Cucumber Lemon (P105).

One of the creamiest pesto pasta I've ever tasted! This is the Pesto By Golly Wow (P280) which is new on their menu.

During regular days, their friendly team can also assist customers various arts and crafts that are available at the cafĂ©. They cater to every artists to share their knowledge thru workshops.

We got to try the watercolor techniques and basic calligraphy. Calligraphy needs a lot of practice to master that design writing. I was so inspired, thus the change on my blog's template. Hoping I'll have my very own watercolor and calligraphy on the blog as my header and logo.
