Dealing with Toddler Years, A Smart Parenting Workshop

Toddler years are the golden age of exploration for a child, or I must say the difficult one for moms. It is at this stage where parents should be extra mindful in understanding their kid's language. I for example have twinboys who are so active, curious, naughty and the list will go on! I have a share of experiences on dealing with a lot of tantrums. And don't forget the terrible two stage. We thought we are already done with the terrible stage but no, we are now entering the terrible three! A working and crazy mom like me need a lot of help. Aside from coffee that will keep me sane everyday, workshops on parenting can guide parents like me on how to deal with toddler years. It is with this toddler year that we need some guide on how to communicate effectively to our kids.

Dealing with Toddler Years, A Smart Parenting Workshop

To help parents navigate the toddler years (children ages 2 to 4 years old) - from tantrums, toddler behavior, hygiene, milestones, activities and more, our friends from SmartParenting.com.ph, invited us for its annual signature workshops with the first leg, Smart Parenting Mom Workshops 1: Raising Toddlers. Last March 18, 2016, together with a community of dads and moms backed by experts, the event was held at Makati Diamond Residences.

Michelle Tambunting, the co-founder and directress of Young Creative Minds Preschool, started the talk about how to tame tantrums and doled out advice on parenting effectively in this digital age. She explained things such as finding a parenting style that suits you. She helps us understand why toddlers are so active. Aside from toddlers are having a hard time being reasonable, their brains are not yet fully equipped. Toddlers are impatient, curious and active because they have 700 neural connections on their brains. They got so many things happening on their heads. Learning from the talk are, parents like me should calm down, be consistent on rules and discipline and connecting with our child. It's tough being a toddler and understanding our child is the best way to deal with them.

Followed by the informative talk was a mom of two toddlers and a model, Nicole Hernandez de-los Angeles. She also shared her experience on raising two boys. She spoke for Belo Baby, one of the major sponsors of the SP Workshop, and spoke about how she found the perfect baby skin products for her boys. She relies on Belo Baby because it has 100% certified natural ingredients.

Another informative talk was from Dr. Carmina M. Arriola-delos Reyes, a pediatrician and infectious disease specialist, on pain and fever management when it comes to kids. Arceli Tan of Insular Life, ended the discussions with one of the most important subject parents need to know, money. She talked about Financial 101 for all moms.
